"Introduction to Excavation Safety Awareness"

Dana "Buck" Buchholzer has been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years. He is an experienced heavy equipment operator and has background in the repair, maintenance, design and sales of construction equipment.
 
He is the founder and President of Midwest Underground Technologies, Inc., a company formed in 1993 to specialize exclusively on all aspects of excavation safety. The capabilities of his company included the design and manufacture of a full line of excavation safety products and related equipment with one such product being under patent. He sold the primary rentals and sales aspects of the company in 2008. The company prior to this was the largest and most diversified supplier of such goods and services in the Midwest. The training programs he has developed on excavation safety and rescue are recognized as the most advanced and complete available in the country. He has been recognized as an approved instructor for the Federal Government, the State of Ohio, National Utilities Contractors Association, Ohio Contractors Association, Ohio Gas Association, Multiple Shoring Manufactures, National Trench Safety, NAXSA and numerous safety organizations, associations, universities and trade unions. He has received certifications from all of these organizations that offer such. His training programs and instruction have been provided to the construction, industrial, utility, municipal and emergency service industries throughout the Midwest.
 
Today he is the area Manager in Ohio for National Trench Safety, the largest independently owned supplier of excavation safety equipment, sight specific engineering and training in the United States. He provides consultation on jobsite specific application of excavation safety equipment and systems and conducts Competent Person Excavation Safety training classes.
